Do you travel to Clinton Little Rock National airport on regularly or just occasionally? Even if you don’t, Arkansas road construction is currently active on every interstate artery, I 40, I-30, I-530 and 67-167. Airport travel has to have allowances for potential delays whether it is construction, vehicle accidents or speed traps.
Expressway Airport Parking located at the entrance of the Little Rock National airport wants you to be prepared, we suggest downloading the “WAZE” mobile app and the “I Drive Arkansas” mobile app. Opening these apps before you pull out of your driveway will instantly inform you of every potential snag that can cost you time commuting to the airport.
Tip #1, “Brief yourself on the traffic conditions for your route!”
That is why there are 2 mobile apps you should download to your phone one time and then always be able to circumnavigate heavy construction, auto pile ups and on top of all that, avoiding Smokey Bear (the speed traps for those not familiar with CB radio talk).
The first app is WAZE which is a Google owned traffic app that allows you to join the driving community and share real time information on highway conditions. Anytime I hit the Interstates for more than a 30 minute commute I open the app before I pull out of the driveway and immediately know if there are issues that can slow my estimated commute, especially when ever maintaining time sensitive airport trip. Figure 1 is a picture of the app in the App store.
Just a simple search for a course from my home to Nashville TN from current position, I immediately find 8 Yellow construction icons, 3 Blue speed trap icons and 1 Red auto accident icon ( Figure 3). Very important to know if you haven’t allowed time for such slow downs and Waze can compute an alternative route as you go.
Figure 3 Shows an icon for every road problem
As a backup and comparison app every Arkansan should have is I Drive Arkansas, from the Arkansas Department of Highway Transportation ( also in Figure 1 ). This app gives up to the minute reporting on highway construction projects in progress, more importantly any that may be scheduled to start the day you travel. They also show traffic congestion due to peak volume. Most handy when the snow flies and you need to know which roads have been salted or sanded.
Tip #2, “Know what your parking options are before you waste 20 minutes wandering around the airport”.
By understanding your parking options before you get to the airport, you can speed the time from entering the airport property to the ticket counter by as much as 20 minutes.
Expressway Airport Parking is the fastest option for parking at Little Rock National Airport, located west of the airport entrance at 4405 E. Roosevelt road, Little Rock, AR 72206, you can park covered or uncovered and be picked up and delivered to the front door in 5 minutes or less and for less money!
Clinton National Airport has 5 different parking areas located along the maze of airport roadway that circles the property from the East to the West then exiting to the South to circle back to the main entrance drive again if you weren’t able to choose which option is right for you. This is a challenge because if price is important then you need to know quickly because a wrong turn could lead you to a lot priced at $13 per day versus $10.
If convenience is important to you then it would have been important to know the proximity of each parking area in relation to the ticket counter. It’s important to note that the Little Rock municipal airport parking also has a 300-foot rule set by TSA since 911, no overnight parking allowed within 300 feet of the terminal building, that’s roughly 100 steps at the closest spot and could be as for as 900 steps from the top of the municipal airport parking deck or the farthest spot on the uncovered lots, rain, sleet, heat or snow.

And there is always the time spent “huntin and peckin”. Parking at the municipal lot is always based on the further you park the longer you walk costing you money and up to 20 minutes just parking unloading luggage and walking rain, sleet, heat or snow.
